Baker Hughes and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) have signed multiple agreements for the deployment of advanced wireline services across India's offshore and onshore oil and gas fields. The cooperation supports reservoir evaluation, well completion and field development activities aimed at improving production efficiency and hydrocarbon recovery in both mature and new assets.

The collaboration covers exploration and production activities in offshore and onshore oil and gas operations. The deployed technologies are intended to improve reservoir characterization, optimize well completion and support efficient field development through advanced subsurface data acquisition and testing.

Partner Roles and Technical Responsibilities
ONGC is responsible for the exploration and development of the oil and gas assets, while Baker Hughes will provide wireline logging, perforation and drill stem testing services. The cooperation combines ONGC's field operations with Baker Hughes' wireline technologies and service infrastructure to support reservoir evaluation and production optimization across multiple operating regions.

The agreements include the deployment of up to 46 wireline units and seven drill stem testing kits. The technical portfolio incorporates advanced logging services, multi-probe reservoir fluid sampling and reservoir-driven perforating technologies designed to deliver detailed subsurface measurements, fluid characterization and optimized perforation planning. These capabilities support improved well productivity and informed operational decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle.

Deployment Across India
The wireline systems will be deployed across several offshore developments, including the Neelam Heera, Mumbai High North, Mumbai High South, Bassein Satellite and Tapti Daman fields, supporting more than 30 shallow-water exploration and development rigs. The agreement also includes support for deepwater exploration activities in the Mahanadi, Andaman, Cauvery and Krishna-Godavari basins.

Onshore deployment will cover exploration and development activities in the Bengal, Krishna-Godavari and Assam-Arakan basins. Baker Hughes will utilize its service facilities in Taloja, near Mumbai, and Duliajan for equipment maintenance, calibration and testing, enabling local technical support and integration with ONGC's operational infrastructure.
