Wood has secured a two-year contract extension with Woodside to continue providing brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services across offshore assets at the North West Shelf (NWS) Project in Western Australia.
The scope of work focuses on asset modifications intended to maintain and enhance production capacity, operational reliability, and asset longevity at one of the world’s most established liquefied natural gas (LNG) developments. The North West Shelf Project has supplied domestic and export LNG markets for decades and remains a core component of Australia’s energy infrastructure.
Under the extension, Wood will support upgrades across several offshore facilities, including the North Rankin Complex, the Goodwyn A platform, and the Okha floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. The work involves brownfield interventions on operating assets, requiring detailed knowledge of existing systems, integration constraints, and offshore safety requirements.
Wood has been supporting the NWS Project since 2013 and brings long-term asset familiarity to the EPCM activities. The contract will be delivered by a team of approximately 140 Wood employees based in Perth, supported by the company’s global engineering network. The extension reinforces continued investment in maintaining offshore LNG infrastructure as part of Australia’s long-term energy supply and export capability.
