Pertamina Hulu Energi restores EZB platform

PT Pertamina (Persero), through its Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) Regional Java Subholding Upstream, has achieved strategic success in optimizing its existing wells. After 14 years of inactivity since 2010, the EZB platform off the coast of Subang Regency has been successfully reactivated and is now contributing 374 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) of crude oil production.

This success was achieved through the reactivation of two initial wells, namely EZB-1S and EZB-3S, through production tests on October 26, 2025. What the Company has done is in line with PHE ONWJ's commitment as a Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) under the supervision of SKK Migas, to maximize existing assets and aggressively support the achievement of national production targets for energy security.

PHE ONWJ General Manager, Muzwir Wiratama, explained that reactivating assets that have been inactive for a long time is one of the Company's key strategies in maintaining the rate of oil and gas production amidst the natural challenges of declining production in fields that have been operating for decades.

This achievement, according to Wira, fully aligns with the Indonesian government's ambitious vision of achieving energy sovereignty and security. PHE ONWJ is capable of working and innovating in managing existing resources, and not relying solely on new discoveries.

According to Wira, the achievements at the EZB-1S and EZB-3S wells are just the beginning. The company has a systematic follow-up work plan to continue optimizing the platform's full potential.

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) and serves as an Upstream Subholding within Pertamina. PHE's Upstream Subholding role is to manage Pertamina's upstream oil and gas fields, both domestically and internationally.

PHE has authorized the Java Region to coordinate upstream oil and gas fields in the western part of Java, including PHE ONWJ, PHE OSES, Pertamina EP West Java, and Pertamina East Natuna. The Java Region's working area covers the provinces of DKI Jakarta, Banten, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, and West Java.

The Java Region continues to strive to increase oil and gas production as stipulated in its work plan, consistently implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects at all levels. The Java Region remains committed to maintaining sustainable business prospects by prioritizing environmental balance and sustainability, while contributing to community self-sufficiency.
