Honeywell UOP and ExxonMobil Unite for SCANfining Technology

Honeywell UOP and ExxonMobil Catalysts and Licensing LLC have signed an exclusive licensing alliance agreement which allows UOP to include ExxonMobil’s SCANfining Technology for gasoline desulfurization for FCC gasoline streams in its portfolio. SCANfining technology is a cost-effective solution for meeting the low-sulfur requirements of gasoline. This hydroprocessing technology removes sulfur, lowers hydrogen consumption and minimizes octane loss.

Under the agreement, UOP is granted a worldwide right to market, license and provide engineering work and technical support for the design, construction and start-up of new and existing SCANfining units. This alliance builds on collective expertise to provide customers with high octane FCC gasoline with low sulfur using SCANfining technology.
