CNOOC Limited Brings On-stream Weizhou 5-3 Oilfield Development Project

CNOOC Limited has launched a project to develop the Weizhou 5-3 oil field on the Chinese continental shelf, the company's press service reported.
Weizhou Field 5-3
- located in the Beibu Gulf Basin of the South China Sea;
- oil at the medium viscosity field;
- CNOOC Limited owns a 51% stake, while Smart Oil Investment Ltd has another 49%.
As part of the development of the field, it is planned to put into operation 10 wells, including 7 producing wells, 2 water injection wells and 1 gas injection well. It is expected that in 2026 the project will reach the production level of 10 thousand boe/day.
