Moxa to Demonstrate IIoT Solutions for Oil & Gas Markets at 2024 OTC Show in Houston

Moxa, a leading manufacturer of industrial network equipment for hazardous and harsh environments, is set to host a series of demonstrations at the 2024 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, TX, May 6-9, that highlight the company's commitment to expanding productivity-enhancing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology in the oil and gas markets.

Moxa to Demonstrate IIoT Solutions for Oil & Gas Markets at 2024 OTC Show in Houston

Moxa will be exhibiting at OTC 2024 in booth #3089 where it will showcase its UC-2222A Series of Arm-based wireless-enabled DIN-rail industrial computers, among other advanced networking solutions

Moxa will use the demonstrations to showcase its diverse portfolio of Edge Computing products, ranging from ruggedized panel PCs and x86 computers to cybersecurity-hardened management software, and an array of new innovations and initiatives, all aimed at maximizing the efficiencies of upstream, midstream and downstream operations through digital transformation.

Taking center stage in Moxa OTC booth #3809 will be a display of the advanced out-of-the-box software capabilities now integrated into Moxa IIoT Ethernet gateways, including ThingsPro Edge with Azure Integration and support for industrialized Debian 11 distribution. These capabilities are built into the new line of UC-2222A and UC-4423A dual core and quad core 64-bit Arm gateways being introduced at OTC, along with other gateways at the booth. Both the UC-2222A and UC-4423A are certified for Class 1, Division 2 (C1D2) hazardous locations where potentially explosive levels of liquids, vapors or dust are present, making them ideal for remote monitoring of pipelines or data acquisition on offshore platforms.

Visitors to Moxa's booth can witness firsthand several other new developments from the company, as well:

  • Moxa HMI Panel PCs and x86 Computers: The new BXP and DRP series of DIN-rail x86 Edge Computers and MPC/EXPC series HMI panel computers are globally certified for hazardous areas.
  • Moxa MXview One + Central Manager & MXsecurity Software: Moxa's industrial network security management software features attack prevention capabilities that mitigate cyberthreats, offering enhanced visibility of malicious activity through data visualization.
  • Moxa MRX Switches: Scalable high-bandwidth core switches with sophisticated IT protocols and high throughput, featuring up to 16 10GbE and 56 1GbE ports, blending IT innovation with OT reliability and trust for streamlined convergence.
  • Moxa Industrial Linux 3: An industrialized Debian 11 distribution that is managed by Moxa and enhanced with IEC 62443-4-2 security compliance, 10 years long term support, and critical connection and reliability features.
  • Moxa MPC-3000: A new line of rugged C1D2 panel PCs for outdoor cabinets and heavy equipment, now powered by Intel’s Elkhart Lake Atom for improved performance and efficiency.

Designed to Rigorous Industrial Requirements
For oil and gas operations, it can be both difficult and costly to realize the benefits of IIoT technology due to environments that expose network devices and infrastructures to extreme temperatures, salt water, corrosion, heavy vibration, and poor power quality, among other threats.

Along with providing exceptionally rugged designs, Moxa emphasizes safety in its wide range of industrial-grade solutions by engineering them to meet the performance requirements of C1D2, ATEX Zone 2, IECEx and NEMA 4X/IP66 certifications. Moxa products are currently deployed worldwide in field applications far away from the IT wiring closet, such as offshore rigs, pump stations, pipelines, petrochemical processing plants, and oil refineries to help build highly reliable, secure Ethernet communication networks.
