Subsea7 Secures Sakarya Phase 3 Offshore Mooring Installation Contract

Subsea7 has secured a contract extension valued between 50 million and 150 million dollars from Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center AS for the Sakarya Phase 3 development offshore Türkiye. The engineering program covers towing, mooring line installation, and hookup activities to deploy a second floating production unit within the Black Sea offshore natural gas sector.

Deepwater Mooring and Floating Production Unit Towing
The technical scope awarded under the extension encompasses marine transport logistics, pre-setting of mooring foundations, and hookup operations for a major floating production unit (FPU). The installation campaign requires towing the floating facility to the deepwater production coordinates and connecting tensioned mooring lines designed to stabilize the hull against deepwater hydrodynamic loads. Mooring line connection procedures ensure positional stability for subsea risers, umbilicals, and production manifolds operating in deepwater marine environments.

Field Development Phasing and Engineering Execution
Project management, installation design, and marine engineering are directed through the Subsea7 regional engineering office in Istanbul. Field execution interfaces directly with the wider Sakarya energy development, which produces natural gas from ultra-deep reservoirs to feed the Filyos onshore processing facility and national distribution networks. Commissioning of the floating production platform is scheduled for 2028, expanding the total production volume and infrastructure continuity of the Black Sea energy basin.
