Halliburton launched the StreamStar™ wired drill pipe interface system, a breakthrough solution that delivers real-time, high-speed data and continuous downhole power. This system enables faster, more accurate decisions and improves orchestrated closed-loop automation.
"With the StreamStar system, Halliburton sets a new benchmark for drilling performance. It transforms the wired drill string into an intelligent network that improves drilling automation, geosteering, and well integrity for precise well placement and optimized completions," said Jim Collins, vice president, Sperry Drilling, Halliburton.
The StreamStar system is the first of its kind to minimize the use of downhole generators and lithium batteries. This allows a shorter, more compact bottomhole assembly design that places sensors closer to the bit for improved measurements and reliability. It also provides instant, two-way communication between the logging-while-drilling system and the rotary steerable system. The result is faster, more accurate decisions that deliver reduced well construction time.
