SLB, formerly known as Schlumberger Limited, founded in 1926 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, USA, is a global technology company driving energy innovation. SLB offers a comprehensive portfolio of services and products for the oil and gas industry, including reservoir characterization, drilling, production, and processing solutions. The company is committed to advancing digitalization and sustainability, developing technologies for carbon capture, hydrogen production, and geothermal energy. With operations in over 120 countries, SLB leverages its technological expertise and global reach to support clients in optimizing performance and reducing environmental impact.
Integrating robotics innovation with SLB's OptiSite facility and equipment performance solutions will enable oil and gas companies to optimize operations and maintenance activities.
Working closely together, SLB and Star Energy Geothermal aim to deploy technologies that shift the economics of conventional geothermal projects and improve recovery rates of geothermal assets.
The projects, which will be delivered over a three-year timeframe, will combine SLB’s AI-enabled digital drilling capabilities with its expertise in ultra-deepwater environments.
The award covers more than 100 wells across nine ultra-deepwater rigs including exploratory and revitalization wells in the Campos Basin, with potential operations in the Equatorial Margin.
Using advanced cloud and edge AI capabilities, the system automatically selects the best route for drilling the well based on high-fidelity downhole measurements.
The facility will reduce emissions by up to 400,000 metric tons of CO2 annually for Heidelberg Materials ― one of the world’s largest building materials companies.
